Canyon View Estates was designed by architect William Krisel for developer Roy Fey in 1962. The neighborhood was built in phases, with HOA 3 being built in 1964. Krisel, principal of Palmer & Krisel, was also a licensed landscape architect. He is one of the most known and respected architects developing Mid-century homes in Southern California.

Through post and beam construction, vaulted ceilings, walls of glass, patios, and ground level entries, the homes offer a lifestyle where the interior blends into the desert exterior.
